In spring 2026, rent was $4350 for the semester, including all your housing and food needs (utilities, mealplan, groceries, etc.). This is ~40% of dorm housing + MIT mealplan! (depending on dorm/mealplan). We achieve low rent and food costs through communal labor.
Per MIT policy, pika houses only MIT students (undergrad and grad) during the academic year, but summers are open to the wider community! Summer rent varies depending on number of roomates, but averages to less than $3000 for the summer.
