Events

• Alumni dinner - second Friday of every month. Reminders sent to pika-local-alumni at mit.edu.
• Spring Thing - Late April/Early May (Usually right after the ghost of Steer Roast), announced on pikans at mit.edu.
• Alum Thanksgiving - Mid-November (Usually the weekend before Thanksgiving; Sunday, November 18th, 2018), announced on pikans at mit.edu.
• Reunions - Every couple of years, scheduled by housecorp, announced on pikans at mit.edu.
• Retreat - Around February. Hang out, sleep over, take advantage of the local things to do while current pikans have hours and hours of meetings! Not announced, contact a current pikan if you wish to participate (you’re welcome, just that we won’t be able to take tens of people).

Mailing Lists

• pikans at mit.edu - Very low-traffic mailing list containing everyone who has ever lived at pika (or at least that’s the goal). http://mailman.mit.edu/mailman/listinfo/pikans
• pika-alum-talk at mit.edu - Low-traffic discussion and announcements of larger events, such as spring thing and alum thanksgiving. Email yfnac at mit.edu to subscribe.
• pika-local-alumni at mit.edu - Announcements of low-key alum events that we think people will not wish to travel for. Currently, alum fancy feasts. Email yfnac at mit.edu to subscribe.
• nutso-flaming-pikans at mit.edu - Bursty traffic, (usually fun) foolishness, where flamewars go to die. Email yfnac at mit.edu to subscribe.
• housecorp at mit.edu - Discussions amongst Housecorp officers and members who choose to be involved. Also periodically has correspondence with pika elected positions, usually the house managers and treasurer.
• pika-commie at mit.edu - Low-key announcements and discussion; people who hang out at pika. Email yfnac at mit.edu to subscribe.

If you are recent alum, you will probably want to add yourself to some or all of these, even if you were already on them through pika-private when you lived here. Also consider that your kerberos email address will not last forever unless you rename a single-member mailing list to the same name as your kerberos using the blanche command and then make it owned by somebody with an eternal kerberos.

Housecorp

Housecorp is the nonprofit organization that owns and provides high-level support for pika, and the pika alumni association which scheduules reunions, produces the alum newsletter, and organizes events with and helps out the current in-house pika community. All pika alums automatically become voting members of Housecorp. All current pikans are non-voting members.
