pika has maybe a few too many mailing lists. Whoops. Hopefully this page can help explain what they are for.
- pika-questions
- The main contact point for people interested in finding out more about pika - also known as pika-rush@mit.edu and pika@mit.edu.
- pika-private
- The people living in pika right now (or the surrounding semesters, over the summer). Used for private discussions. Formerly rihp@mit.edu.
- summer-pikans
- Everyone in the house for the summer.
- pika-house
- Used for talking about things related to the physical house itself, like "a washing machine is broken". Everyone who lives at pika now is on it; if you care to get these sorts of messages (because you spend a lot of time at pika, or you're an alum who remembers what we did the last time a washing machine broke), email yfncc. Formerly in-house-pikans@mit.edu.
- pika-social
- Announcements of fun things at pika or that pikans are doing; everyone in the house is on it, and alums and other friends of the house are welcome to join (email yfncc). Avoid using it for long discussions, because many people are on it.
- pika-food
- Everyone in the house or on meal plan; used for meal-plan-related announcements, kitchen duty switch requests, late requests, etc.
- pikans
- A very low-traffic mailing list containing everyone who has ever lived at pika (or at least that's the goal).
- pika-alum-talk
- Mailing list for current residents and interested alums; can be higher traffic than pikans@mit.edu. Alums and other friends of the house, email yfncc to join. Formerly out-house-pikans@mit.edu.
- nutso-flaming-pikans
- Randomness, flames, etc.
- pika-disc
- Our spring intramural ultimate frisbee team - alums and other friends are welcome to join!
- yfncc
- Your friendly neighborhood computer chairs. Administer these lists, the house network, this website, etc.
- pika-treasurer
- Your friendly neighborhood treasurers. May include both old and new in times of transition. In charge of housebills, budgets, rent and the like.
- pika-housemanagers
- The current (and some former) house managers, and the alumni house maintenance chair. In charge of making sure the house doesn't fall down, work week, house duties, and so on.
